So many people were there. It was amazing. I saw so many people's families that I went to school with at the walk because we lost them. This was such a beautiful way to remember them and help new Hampshire see that we need more treatment!!!

I walked today in support of a beautiful friend and to everyone who has suffered through any sort of pain or loss to this terrible epidemic. Thank you to the organizers. In view of the support of onlookers, it seems we got our message through. Going forward, it is the hope that it will extend far and wide beyond our reach. It was a very emotional experience to be there. It was something to witness. Seeing the supporters, feeling the pain of some of these families ripped apart by this addiction. Their stories are a testament to a horrible reality. To those brave in telling their stories and experiences through their loss, for them, there is the hope it will save a life.

On the radio yesterday I heard a discussion about how this is affecting everyone evenly all communities in NH. I am so moved by the people sharing their pain publicly. It is the most powerful thing we have.

So today I walked with my youngest (15mo) and middle son(9). My 9-year-old whined the whole walk back, he said he felt like his foot was going to snap off, then he said, “well its better than people dying”. Even my kids know my story so they love getting involved because if I can overcome it anyone can. It was absolutely amazing to see that amount of people come together for such an amazing cause!!! So glad I got to be a part of it!!

My family drove by right before one o'clock. I was choking back tears to see all the support. A dear friend passed away years ago from this horrible drug. Many more people I know are struggling every day and a few have been able to move forward. Thank you all who participated. I hope next time I can participate as well. Love to you all.

Thank you, Darlene Pina, for organizing such an important and worthy cause for people to get behind. When I first heard of this event, I was so happy that someone was so caring and willing to get off the couch and put their foot down to make a positive change. You are an angel sent from heaven to motivate people and get results. I wish I could have been there to participate. But, my many friends who attended this event gave me updates and I can see it was more of a success than any of us could ever imagine. Again, thank you for being so caring and stepping up to the plate to make a voice heard for all the people who suffer from this horrible addiction. This is a subject that hits me really hard because of my experiences and struggles that span over 2 decades. Drugs ruin so many lives and heroin is the biggest and most dangerous one there is. God bless all who have participated in or reached out to try and make a difference. Together, we can beat this thing. We all need to believe.

Oh, Darlene Darlene Darlene, we must thank you!!! You always have said there is power in numbers and today proved that. It was a fabulous walk and I've had so much fun doing both walks with you and am here for many more To come and any help you need. I don't think I have a voice though and my feet and legs are killing me from jumping up and down so much haha but it's ok it was worth it! Perhaps the most beautiful part of this whole thing is the orchestra that played through Main Street by all the cars beeping. Perfection...good job everyone!

Great job everyone. The turn out was great. 800 Warrier Walkers who made this Heroin epidemic front and center to 1000s of people in downtown Nashua. Let's do this again until Heroin is gone from our streets.

Because there is power in the community. This experience is still with me and will be for quite some time. Just for the healing alone, walking together was like medicine for the soul and you can't buy that from any doctor. Thank you, Jesus.

Awareness truly is healing. Looking at the faces of fellow people walking and the cars looking back at all of us walking, cheering, honking brought tears to my eyes, knowing they most likely are familiar with the pain of addiction or a family/ friend member's addiction struggles.
The fact that people walked today shows they are active in a solution, perhaps closure, some form of therapy that makes my heart full. Power in numbers. You are not alone. What a therapeutic, and emotion releasing day.

It was my pleasure to be able to participate in the awareness Warrior walk to stop heroin. Please, everyone, let's wake up and help all that need help let's be aware. Make some noise. Thank you, Darlene, you made this happen and many more thank yous for promoting Health. Many people help others stay away from heroin. God bless us all and God bless everyone who walked, everyone who cheered. Honk your horn to fight heroin and most importantly to be aware ... help those who need help and remember everyone.. it is not against the law to help or call for help !!

I have never been addicted to heroin, however, last summer/fall a close friend fell into that trap and was homeless and using nonstop for a couple of months. I'm proud of them and who they are now because they have stopped using it. I'm going to this for them and for family friends that were not so lucky and have died from this poison. I'm also going so I can help shed light on this awful drug and save others that are falling into that trap.

I will be walking for that person. You know, the one who has burned every bridge, doesn't think their family cares anymore, have stolen to get their next fix, and is afraid to ask for help because they know its a long scary road. I am walking for that person because I WAS that person.

Our first walk as we just lost my nephew who was just 25 years old to this horrible epidemic! It was a huge eye-opener and I feel blessed to have been able to walk with all the others who have or are going through this with a loved one! God bless all of you and may you somehow find peace in this world! We all need to keep fighting and stick together as one! We love and miss you so much, Matthew.

I just completed the 5th Walk for Opioid Awareness and Healing. I walked with so many people today. Families, friends, strangers to me but I felt connected together. To all those affected by addiction, those we have lost, those struggling, those in recovery, all those who have lost, I stand with you today and forever. I pray that LOVE, strength, support, and hope will raise you up.

This is my 4th walk for heroin awareness we ask you to beep your horn we don't ask you for money we asked you to be aware. I shake the cowbell. I have on my shirt. There are hundreds of people that need help with opiates and heroin and we have places for people to go to get help so today is so important because if we can help just 1 person, 10 people, or 100 people, that would be fantastic. Just turn to us and we will point you in the right direction to get help today. We stand and we are aware. We are fighting this epidemic and we are starting to heal. The more we help, the more we heal. So we ring our cowbells and show our signs. Let’s kick this epidemic. Too many have died. So many have gone too soon. Mothers, fathers, children, uncles, aunts, it just seems endless. Stand with me today as we walk and we chant and we make people aware by asking them to beep their horns and make a difference.

From what I understand addiction has one of two options. You get sober or you leave this world!
Today I am full of emotions, I’m angry, determined, hurt, and very very sad! In March we lost my sweet nephew to the horrible evil. My sister looked at me and my other two sisters and asked a simple question “What do I do now?!” The three of us shock our heads and gave her a simple answer “We don know!” Because what answer do you give a heartbroken grieving mother who could barely stand on her own two feet?!
A short few months have passed since that day and I have had some time to think about a not so simple answer!
We walk/run and be a part of any event we can!
We donate to help with treatments!
We tell our story and be heard!
At the end of the day, I know these things will never bring our Matthew Bailey back, but it could educate, make more people aware, help other grieving families, and just maybe save someone!!!
Honestly these things are the only things I know together we can do!!!!

We were down at City Hall for 11 and excited to see such a great crowd. A little hard to hear the speakers because there were so many people but that’s a great problem to have. Congratulations to the organizers and all those who attended to give a little attention to something that needs even more attention from the rest of our community as well.
